The company's latest sound bar model has been revealed.
Yamaha has announced pricing and availability for its newest home audio product. The YAS-106 Sound Bar serves as the successor to the previously released YAS-105 Sound Bar ($250).
"The YAS-106 provides signature Yamaha audio quality with simplified setup in an easy-to-use, décor-friendly package at an unbeatable price," said Bob Goedken, general manager, AV division, Yamaha Corporation of America. "With the inclusion of Bluetooth streaming, the YAS-106 delivers even more bang for the buck by doubling as a compact, great-sounding music system that connects wirelessly from a smartphone or tablet."
The ultra-slim 120 W sound bar measure 35 inches wide and just 2 1/8 inches tall offering flexible placement options. The device features dual built-in subwoofers, twin bass reflex ports, and Advanced Bass Extension Processing for surround playback, offering deep integrated bass. With that said, users can also connect a separate, powered subwoofer to the speaker's subwoofer output. Support for Dolby Digital and DTS audio formats is included, allowing the sound bar to provide a virtual surround sound experience.
In addition, the model offers HDCP 2.2 compliant HDMI 2.0 input and output with support for 4K Ultra HD video passthrough with HDR (high dynamic range) from Ultra HD Blu-ray players and other media devices. Likewise, the unit features Bluetooth connectivity for music streaming and app control from iOS and Android mobile devices. Finally, the sound bar also includes Yamaha's Clear Voice tech to raise dialogue levels, and a Compressed Music Enhancer to restore frequency response lost during digital compression on Bluetooth audio tracks.
Yamaha's YAS-106 Sound Bar will start shipping in mid-August for a suggested retail price of $199.95.
