Mad Catz offerings highlight the lack of compatibility for the Xbox One with existing fightsticks.
Buried within the console madness of E3 was the announcement of Mad Catz Arcade FightStick Tournament Edition 2 for the Xbox One. Mad Catz has now followed up with the announcement of the Killer Instinct Arcade FightStick Tournament Edition 2 for the Xbox One. The 'Killer Instinct' version will feature 'Killer Instinct' artwork, the extent of which for the normal red and black layout is not yet known.
Alex Verrey, Global PR & Communications Director at Mad Catz, "The KI stick will be identical bar the artwork.
"The new stick features genuine arcade components, easy access to internal components for modding (by way of a simple hinge), room for a shoulder strap, detachable tournament cabling and backlit buttons and side panels!"
Reception to 'Killer Insctinct' has thus far been a bit chilly, and the game has struggled with the reputation of a free-to-game. Nevertheless, it is reasonable to think that there will eventually be a fighting on the Xbox One worthy of the new Mad Catz stick. Unfortunately, there is no expectation that either current 360 sticks or 360 fighting games will work with the new system.
The Mad Catz Arcade FightStick Tournament Edition 2 for the Xbox One is expected to ship "Holiday 2013."
