Expect a non-digibook edition of the 1962 epic episodic western in the new year.
Warner Brothers is going to re-release 'How The West Was Won' starring James Stewart, Henry Fonda, Gregory Peck, Debbie Reynolds, and Richard Widmark on Blu-ray in a regular blue keepcase on January 4.
Josh Zyber's review for the previously released digibook edition is available here.
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements will include: Commentary by filmmaker David Strohmaier, Cinerama Inc. director John Sittig, film historian Rudy Behlmer, music historian Jon Burlingame and stuntman Loren James, Cinerama Adventure: bonus movie documentary about the revolutionary movie exhibition process, and theatrical trailer.
The release, however, won't include Warner's digibook packaging, or the second disc with the alternate "smilebox" version.
Suggested list price hasn't been revealed yet.
