It looks like fans will have to wait a few weeks longer for 'The Invasion' to hit high-def.
Although Warner Home Entertainment had previously announced a January 8th cross-format release for the Nicole Kidman-Daniel Craig starrer, the studio has now confirmed a three-week delay for the title. The 'Body Snatchers' remake is now due January 29th on Blu-ray, HD DVD combo disc and standard DVD.
As we've previously reported, tech specs for the two next-gen versions will be identical, with each receiving a 1080p/VC-1 encode and audio options in Dolby TrueHD (48kHz/24-bit) and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround (both 640kbps).
Supplements across all editions are slated to include the "We've Been Snatched Before: Invasion in Media History" retrospective documentary, plus three additional making-of featurettes: "A New Story," "On the Set" and "Snatched."
You'll find complete disc details for 'The Invasion' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule and HD DVD Release Schedule, where it's indexed under its new date of January 29, 2008.
