Its release date is still two months away, but we've got an early peek at the Blu-ray and HD DVD cover art for Warner's highly-awaited next-gen bow of the epic Brad Pitt western.
As we first reported a few weeks back, the studio is bringing the much-buzzed-about Oscar hopeful 'The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford' to Blu-ray and HD DVD/DVD Combo disc on February 26, 2008, day-and-date with the DVD.
Previously announced specs across both next-gen versions include identical 1080p/VC-1 video, plus Dolby TrueHD audio on the HD DVD, with the Blu-ray enjoying uncompressed PCM 5.1 audio.
Extras are slim, with the 30-minute documentary "The Assassination of Jesse James: Death of an Outlaw" and the original theatrical trailer the only extras.
Now comes the first look at the title's high-def box cover art, highlighting the film's western milieu and, of course, Pitt's high-def ready mug:
As previously announced, Warner has set a suggested list price of $35.98 for the Blu-ray and HD DVD/DVD combo versions.
You'll find final specs for 'The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule and HD DVD Release Schedule, where it is indexed under February 26, 2008.
