There's no date yet, but Warner has confirmed plans to bring the classics 'Gigi' and 'An American in Paris' to Blu-ray in 2009.
Released this year in feature-laden, two-disc standard DVD editions, fans had hoped Warner would also announce a Blu-ray release for the pair of musicals, but despite rumors to the contrary, Warner now says both titles won't receive the deluxe next-gen treatment until sometime in the new year.
Given that a high-def release of 'Gigi' and 'An American in Paris' are still at least months away, there are no to tech specs or supplemental details confirmed as of yet. However, both of the standard DVD editions were chock full of extras, so expectations are high for the Blu-ray versions.
Needless to say, watch this space for the latest news as it comes to us.
In the meantime, we've added listings for both 'Gigi' and 'An American In Paris' to the "Release Dates Pending" section of our Blu-ray Release Schedule. Stay tuned!
