Universal Announces First HD DVD/DVD Hybrid Discs

Tags: Disc Announcements, Combo Discs, Universal (all tags) Becoming the second studio to release hybrid HD DVD/DVD discs, Universal Studios Home Entertainment today announced it will issue its first two combo titles this August.

Due in stores on August 8, both 'National Lampoon's Animal House' and 'Unleashed' will feature an HD DVD version on one side of the disc, and a standard DVD version on the other.

Both releases will include all of the same bonus features as their current standard DVD counterparts, though neither will include any bonus HD content.

Universal has set a list price of $34.95 for each release.
