UPDATE: We've been informed by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment that the August 26 release date originally reported in this story is the disc's retailer pre-order cut-off date. The actual street date for 'Leatherheads' is September 16. We've updated our database accordingly.
Universal has announced a late-August bow for the George Clooney football comedy 'Leatherheads.'
Co-starring John Krasinski and Renee Zellweger, the Clooney-directed sports farce was a box office underachiever during its brief theatrical run earlier this year, grossing less than $30 million and earning mixed critical notices.
Universal is clearly hoping for a better score on home video, when it debuts the film on Blu-ray September 16, day-and-date with the standard DVD.
There are no tech specs or supplemental details available as of yet, but we'll keep you posted.
Universal has set a $34.95 list price for the Blu-ray.
