The Litany of 'The War Z'

Steam pulls new release amid an acrimonious outcry of deception.
In what appears to be an extension of issues that plagued the title's beta, Valve's vice president of marketing Doug Lombardi issued the following statement to Polygon, "From time to time a mistake can be made and one was made by prematurely issuing a copy of War Z for sale via Steam. We apologize for this and have temporary removed the sale offering of the title until we have time to work with the developer and have confidence in a new build. Those who purchase the game and wish to continue playing it via Steam may do so. Those who purchased the title via Steam and are unhappy with what they received may seek a refund by creating a ticket at our support site here."
At specific issue would seem to be a revolving door of features and statistics promised, but not yet delivered, including the size of the game world, individual server capacity, and a skill tree. Allegations also seem to revolve around the title's micro transactions, e. g. features promised to be part of the initial purchase but only available by spending money in-game.
Meanwhile, Sergey Titov, executive producer of Hammerpoint Interactive's 'The War Z' made several comments to GameSpy that seemed to refute any culpability, and the same time, to underplay the number of players at issue with the release, "Sergey Titov: I'm sure there'll be people who will look into small details and will say 'no I was mislead,' where in fact they imagined something to themselves without checking details first. I'm sure that Steam ha(s) it's refund policies that should handle those situations."
Several other allegations have been made towards 'The War Z' throughout its few month history, not the least of which involved the similarities between 'The War Z' and the increasingly popular 'ArmA II' mod, 'Day Z.' 'The War Z' has been previously accused of copying from Riot's 'League of Legends' user agreement, and even now, Kotaku has cited the game as plagiarizing a promo screen from a number of sources, including 'The Walking Dead.'
