HD re-release to include the original game and 'Dawn of the New World' sequel.
A report originating with 'Tales' series boss Hideo Baba describes a planned HD version of 'Tales of Symphonia.' Much like other 'Tales' titles, the GameCube and PS2 title spawned multiple manga and anime adaptations, and the game itself was popular for its combination of real-time battle encounters, soft art style, and classic (at the time) RPG characters. The game is also know for a great set of New Game Plus mechanics, which tempt players throughout any serious playthrough.
In 2008, 'Tales of Symphonia' received a semi-sequel for the Wii in the form of 'Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World.' While not know as a classic, the game is good enough that certain changes could really open it up to new audiences.
The re-release will include both games with HD visuals, and presumably PS3 specific controls for certain parts of 'Dawn of a New World.
Longtime 'Tales' publisher Namco Bandai has yet to confirm this "perfect" edition of 'Tales of Symphonia,' but details including a release date and pricing is expected soon.
