Direct-to-HD Feature 'Bell Witch' Sees Blu-ray, HD DVD Delay

The direct-to-video horror chiller 'Bell Witch: The Movie' has apparently hit a high-def release snag, with the Blu-ray and HD DVD versions receiving a last-minute street date delay.
As first announced earlier this year, 'Bell Witch: The Movie' was expected to debut today, August 15, becoming the first direct-to-video feature film in history to make its premiere in high-definition (a full two weeks before its standard-def DVD debut September 1).

Apparently, however, some other title will end earning that distinction, as we've just received word from indie distributor Big River that both the Blu-ray and HD DVD editions of 'Bell Witch' have been postponed, although the film's planned September standard-def release remains on track.
A new street date for the high-def versions is expected in the near future, but no date has been officially set. As always, we'll keep you posted as as further information comes in.
In the meantime, we've moved 'Bell Witch: The Movie' to the "Release Dates Postponed" sections of our Blu-ray Release Schedule and HD DVD Release Schedule.
