PS3/Vita release promising a lot for longtime fans.
For those who have been fans of 'Final Fantasy X' and its sequel since their debut on the PS2, the first thing to know about the 'Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster' is that it features the international versions of the two games. That means additional content. 'FFX' contains the option for the deeper, more challenging sphere grid, as well as the 'Dark Aeons' bosses, which are based on Yuna's summons. In 'X-2,' the game's dress-up element is expanded, and even better, there is the Pokemon-like creature creator and coliseum.
Kotaku has produced a side-by-side comparison to illustrate the visual differences:
'FFX' also contains the epilogue 'Eternal Calm,' while 'X-2' contains the playable 'The Last Mission.' Then, for the true obsessive, there is the newly recorded audio drama, 'Will,' which takes place one year after a best case ending of 'X-2.'
'Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster' is up for pre-order on Amazon and is eligible for a free upgrade to the Limited Edition, which includes art book packaging.
One note about the Vita version. While 'FFX' comes on the game card, 'X-2' is included as a download voucher.
