Correction: an earlier version of this story mis-stated that this 'Destiny's Child: Live in Atlanta' the first disc release from Sony BMG. It is not -- as we previously reported, Sony BMG (formerly Sony Music) released 'Tony Bennett: An American Classic' this past December, and the studio's web site lists two other Blu-ray concert titles: 'John Legend: Live at the House of Blues' (released 10/2/06) and 'INCUBUS: Alive at Red Rocks' (scheduled for 3/27/07). Both titles have been added to our release schedules, and we apologize for the error.
Sony BMG is bringing a little bootylicious to Blu-ray, with the late-breaking announcement of 'Destiny's Child: Live in Atlanta.'
Beyonce and company will join the studio's Blu-ray line-up on February 20, with a highly-touted performance from the group's 2005 farewell tour. 'Live in Atlanta' will feature over twenty of the group's best-known tracks, and Sony BMG certainly isn't holding back on top-tier specs for this Blu-ray release.
The title comes maxed-out on a BD-50 dual-layer disc, complete with 1080p/MPEG-2 video and uncompressed PCM and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround options. Extras include a behind-the-scenes featurette, bonus audio tracks and fan-made testimonial videos.
Sony BMG has set a retail price of $19.95.
We've added the latest specs for 'Live in Atlanta' to our Blu-ray Release Schedule under March 20, and we'll keep you posted on all future releases from Sony BMG as soon as they are officially announced. Stay tuned!
