Latest sales numbers happily shared by the company.
Sony's got problems. When it comes to their electronics manufacturing business, the company appears to be a lumbering dinosaur. Sony even elected to unload its sum total of $150 million in Square Enix in order to realize a $47 million in profit on the transaction en route to improving their first quarter bottom line. But one area where the company is all smiles is PS4 sales.
Global Sales of the PS4 have as of April 6th surpassed 7 million units sold. This comes roughly a month after the console hit 6 million, and after the console's launch in Japan. What may be more impressive is the 20.5 million copies of PS4 software sales, a number which includes physical and digital software units. This equates to roughly a three games per console attachment rate. While that may not sound like a lot, it certainly dispels any notion of the console being purchased on its lonesome, and this at a time when the PS4 is not exactly flush with system-selling titles.
