Sony Pictures has announced a late-August Blu-ray release for the David Mamet action drama 'Redbelt.'
Representing unusual thematic territory for writer-director Mamet, 'Redbelt' descends into the Los Angeles fighting subculture for a drama of loyalty and honor. Though it failed to make much of a dent at the box office, Sony will give the film another shot on Blu-ray on August 26 (day-and-date with the DVD).
Tech specs include 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video (2.40:1) and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround audio.
Among the extensive bonus features is an audio commentary with director David Mamet and Randy Couture, four featurettes ("Behind-the-Scenes of Redbelt," "Inside Mixed Martial Arts," "Cast and Crew," "The Magic of Cyril Takayama"), a Q&A with Mamet, and "Fighter Profiles," aka video profiles on the fighters featured in the film.
Suggested retail price for the Blu has been set at $38.96.
