More Roku TVs are on the way.
Roku has announced several new developments for its Roku TV platform. 2015 TV models will be released from new and existing manufacturing partners, and the company has made plans to expand to 4K TVs as well.
The Roku OS will now be available on select HDTV models from Haier and Insignia. Roku TVs from Insignia will be available from Best Buy starting this spring, and Roku TVs from Haier will be available in the summer. Likewise, current Roku partner, TCL, will be releasing 12 new Roku HDTV models during the first half of 2015. The upcoming displays will feature updated hardware designs while offering customers the same convenient Roku smart TV experience. Finally, Roku has also developed a reference design for 4K Roku TVs. Though no Roku Ultra HD TV models have been announced yet, the company has made the design available to its manufacturing partners and TCL is working to introduce a 4K Roku TV in the future.
The Roku TV platform aims to simplify previous smart TV designs, giving users a more streamlined and convenient experience. A home screen serves as a hub for all the TV's content, making it easy for consumers to access live shows and streaming media, which includes the full Roku Channel Store. Roku TVs from TCL and Hisense are available now.
