According to sources of The Post, the negotiations with a private equity firm are getting pretty serious.
Redbox has been doing incredibly well since it first launched, and the upcoming streaming partnership with Verizon has people excited – particularly one private equity firm that may end up buying the company. According to The Post, the folks at Coinstar are in serious talks with a private equity firm. This doesn’t mean they’ll be selling necessarily, but it’s an indicator that the possibility is there.
Of course, if the firm doesn’t end up picking up Coinstar, there are a few companies who would certainly benefit from the acquisition. Just as with Hulu and Netflix sales rumors, analysts are calling for Amazon to pick up the company.
