The company's first 4K connected TVs will start shipping this summer.
Polaroid has announced the launch of their latest Ultra HD TV lineup. The upcoming Google Cast powered displays will be available in sizes ranging from 43 inches to 65 inches.
"We're excited to announce we are working closely with Google to bring our first 4K UHD connected TV line to market later this summer," said Scott W. Hardy, Polaroid President and CEO. "By teaming up with a company such as Google, we are able to offer consumers the latest in TV technology so they can easily share and enjoy their favorite content, and more importantly, deliver tremendous value to those looking to upgrade to a higher-resolution."
The 4K Ultra HD TVs will feature LED LCD panels with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 and a refresh rate of 120hz. In addition, the displays incorporate HDMI 2.0 connections and Google Cast connectivity. With Google Cast, users can stream content from various entertainment, music, and movie apps directly to their TV through an iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet, Mac or Windows laptop, or Chromebook, allowing them to search, browse, queue and control their displays from anywhere in the home. In addition, Polaroid Ultra HD TVs include a built-in HEVC decoder for 4K streaming playback. Google Cast currently offers more than 1,000+ Cast-enabled apps, 200,000+ TV shows and movies, and 30,000,000+ songs.
Polaroid's Ultra HD TV lineup with Google Cast will be available this summer in 43", 50", 55", and 65" sizes with prices ranging from $499 to $999. A 75" model will also be available later this year for a suggested retail price of $1,900.
