North America can enjoy the last of the 1000 series.
According to a UK retailer, Sony's impending announcement will be for the Western debut of the PS Vita-2000. Sony had teased the announcement last Friday, with an invite for several UK news outlets.
"The New PS Vita - Slim Console - Revealed and available to pre-order tomorrow 30.1.14"
The PS Vita-2000 launched last October in Japan in a variety of colors and boasts of several improvements including better battery life, slimmer and lighter, improved secondary buttons and 1GB of usable memory built-in. The new Vita uses a LCD instead the original's OLED, a change which has been perceived as a cost-cutting measure.
The Vita has had a big push in marketing in Europe recently. For now it seems, North America will remain a market for the original Vita.
