"Slayers, stand strong and defend mankind!"
'Toukiden: The Age of Demons' was a huge hit in Japan last year, selling more than half a million copies after its June release, and the game finally coming west. In 'Toukiden: The Age of Demons,' the player takes the role of a Slayer some eight years after the enemy Oni invaded. Set in a mythical version of historic Japan, the blends the talents of the 'Dynasty Warrior' team with the all-too popular monster hunting genre. One twist on the formulae being the team of NPCs that accompany the player, which in turn can be substituted with local ad-hoc human players.
"Possessing a potent life force, the Oni have the remarkable ability to regenerate themselves. No matter how much damage their bodies may take, they will look for an opportunity to recover as long as they have sufficient life force remaining. You have to work together with the other Slayers to destroy their body parts and then use the Ritual of Purification to prevent the Oni from regenerating."
'Toukiden: The Age of Demons' is due out for North American Vitas on February 11th, and Amazon pre-orders include "2 exclusive pieces of armor - Cat Ears and a Tenko (Fox) Mask– along with the “Mitama of Momotaro”, a warrior's soul that will strengthen the player's skill."
