Coming over a year after a canceled HD DVD release, Paramount will bring 'The Kite Runner' to Blu-ray in late-March.
Originally scheduled for HD DVD release in early 2008, Paramount subsequently pulled 'The Kite Runner' following the studio's abandonment of the format. The Marc Forster-directed drama will finally make its high-def debut on Blu-ray March 24.
Tech specs will see a BD-50 dual-layer disc with 1080p video (2.40:1) and English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround tracks.
Extras include audio commentary with Forster, producer Khaled Hosseini and writer David Benioff, a pair of featurettes ("Words from The Kite Runner," "Images from The Kite Runner"), a PSA, and the theatrical trailer.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $34.95.
