Can Tequila Works deliver on the game's promise?
One of the games to standout at this year's Gamescom was Tequila Works' 'Rime.' The isolated gameplay and colorful style has immediately incited the comparison to a combination of 'ICO'/'Shadow of the Colossus' and the 'Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker,' and thereby naturally captivated a certain gaming segment.
Tequila Works' first game 'Deadlight' was released last year and is available on the 360 and PC. That game's 2.5D Unreal3 powered platformer looked impressive but failed to deliver on the gameplay.
From Tequila Works CEO and Creative Director, "We always aim to offer unique visual experiences. Rime is all about light just like Deadlight was about darkness. Life in Deadlight was defined by the silhouettes that the light left. There was light in darkness, beauty in ugliness and life in death. Rime is just the opposite."
'Rime' is being developed for the PS4, but does not yet have a release date.
