Apparently, there are plenty of folks who still believe in the whole virtual reality thing.
Virtual reality has long been a bit of a pipe dream for the gaming, with the Vitrual Boy being the system that turned a huge amount of folks off to the technology. It seems there's still quite a bit of demand though, as a new virtual reality system is hitting the market.
It's called The Oculous Rift, and it's already significantly surpassed its Kickstarter goal of $250,000 by raising - at the time of writing - $910,000. That's a huge amount of cash, especially considering that none of the donation rewards get you a commercial version of the Oculus for yourself, only the prototypes and SDK. That's pretty sweet of course, but if you're not into programming or hardware/software hacking, it doesn't do you a ton of good.
