Netflix has released the official trailer for its latest original film, 'Pee-wee's Big Holiday.' The movie is set to premiere at the SXSW Film Festival on March 17 and will then be available for streaming exclusively through Netflix on March 18.
A fateful meeting with a mysterious stranger inspires Pee-wee Herman to take his first-ever holiday in this epic story of friendship and destiny. Pee-wee's Big Holiday stars Paul Reubens as the beloved fun-loving hero of TV, stage, and film, Pee-wee Herman. Reubens teams up with Judd Apatow ('Anchorman,' 'Bridesmaids') to produce, and Paul Rust ('Comedy Bang! Bang!,' 'Arrested Development') to write. John Lee ('Broad City,' 'Inside Amy Schumer') makes his feature film directorial debut. The film also stars Joe Manganiello, Stephanie Beatriz, and Alia Shawkat. The movie is rated TV-PG and the runtime is listed as 1h 29m. Check out the full trailer below!
Pee-wee Herman was created by Paul Reubens and originated as a stage act and HBO special. The character previously appeared in the children's program 'Pee-wee's Playhouse' and the 1985 film 'Pee-wee's Big Adventure' directed by Tim Burton.
'Pee-wee's Big Holiday' now joins previously released Netflix original films like 'Beasts of No Nation' and 'The The Ridiculous 6.' Other upcoming Netflix original films include 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny,' 'Special Correspondents,' 'War Machine,' and 'Tallulah.' A current Netflix subscription starts at $10 for HD streaming and $12 for Ultra HD streaming.
