Lionsgate plans to expand the consciousness of Blu-ray fans this August, with the next-gen bow of Oliver Stone's 'The Doors.'
The studio has alerted retailers to an August 12 Blu-ray street date for the Oliver Stone biopic, which stars Val Kilmer in the chronicle of the short, fast life of The Doors' Jim Morrison. Though not a huge box office hit, the film has since gone on to attain cult status and remains one of Lionsgate's top DVD catalog sellers.
There are no supplemental details as of yet, but early retail listings indicate 1080p video and a DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 7.1 Surround track. We'll keep you posted as further details are confirmed.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray has been set at $29.98.
You'll find preliminary specs for 'The Doors' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where it's indexed under August 12.
