Two upcoming tablet models will support Dolby's new audio technology.
Lenovo has announced the addition of two new Android tablets to its product lineup at the Mobile World Congress. The TAB 2 A10 and the TAB 2 A8 both offer affordable prices and robust entertainment features.
"Our new tablets prove that affordability and innovation can be synonymous," said Jeff Meredith, vice president and general manager, Tablets, Mobile Business Group, Lenovo. "In particular, bringing LTE speed and Dolby Atmos cinema sound is expected in premium devices, but we have challenged the norm and delivered these consumer-desired features to our entry A Series in order to elevate the mobile connected experience."
The TAB 2 A10 features a 10.1-inch FHD IPS 10-point multitouch display. Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a MediaTek MT8165 64-bit 1.5GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, and a 7000mAh battery running Android 4.4 (upgradeable to 5.0 in June). An 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera are included as well. Meanwhile, the TAB 2 A8 features an 8-inch HD IPS 5-point multitouch display. Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a MediaTek MT8161 64-bit 1.3GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, and a 4290mAh battery running Android 5.0. A 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera are included as well. In addition, both tablets offer Dolby Atmos enhanced sound through their integrated speakers and headphones. "The best entertainment experiences put you in the heart of the action, and that's what Dolby Atmos is designed for," said John Couling, senior vice president, E-Media Business Group, Dolby Laboratories. The combination of Dolby Atmos sound and the superior digital performance of the TAB 2 are a winning combination, and we are excited to collaborate with Lenovo to provide an outstanding experience that deepens consumer engagement with entertainment on the go."
The Lenovo TAB 2 A10 will be available in April with Wi-Fi models starting at $199 and LTE models starting at $279. The Lenovo TAB 2 A8 will be available in June with Wi-Fi models starting at $129 and LTE models starting at $179.
