Giving a rump-shaking boost to their next-gen support, Disney has pacted with D-Box to add the company's motion-code technology to its Blu-ray menu.

Bringing new meaning to the term "couch potato, D-Box uses codes embedded in movie discs and video games to synchronize with the company's line of luxury motion-controled seats, matching the movements in a scene on a disc.

Disney joins Fox as the second studio to release D-Box-enhanced titles on Blu-ray, announcing a multi-year licensing agreement that will see the studio include "D-Box enhancement" on select Blu-ray titles.

"This is a very special time for D-Box, as our technology will be used by another one of the largest movie studios worldwide," said Claude Mc Master, President and Chief Executive Officer of D-Box Technologies. "We are very proud of having Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment on board as it will undoubtedly accelerate the penetration of our technology worldwide and will significantly enhance our efforts to become a world standard in the entertainment industry."

Disney will kick off its support of D-Box with its upcoming Blu-ray title, 'The Game Plan,' due January 22, 2008. The studio has not yet announced further D-Box-enhanced Blu-ray releases, but as always, we'll keep you posted.
