The latest surfing film from the director of 'Step Into Liquid' will catch the Blu-ray wave this April.
In an early announcement to retailers, Image Entertainment has revealed 'Highwater' is coming to Blu-ray on April 12.
On the North Shore of Oahu, waves several stories high curl out of the ocean, to tempt and to challenge. But during the winter months, these waves become truly epic. This is when the world’s top-ranked surfers gather to confront the ocean and compete for surfing’s coveted Triple Crown.
The very best are featured here, surfing in the shadows of towering curls: ten-time world champion Kelly Slater, three-time world champion Andy Irons, four-time Hawaiian Triple Crown winner Sunny Garcia and teenage phenomenon John John Florence. And all the danger, all the insanity, every jaw-dropping ride is captured by acclaimed film director Dana Brown ('Step Into Liquid,' 'Dust to Glory') – backed by the sounds of 2011 Grammy® winning band Switchfoot.
Now is your chance to experience big-wave surfing on a heroic level, where nothing is as beautiful as a successful ride – and nothing as terrifying as a wipe-out. 'Highwater' takes you through pipelines and barrels and swells; with only one caveat: don’t try this at home!
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements will include extended interviews and a trailer.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $29.97.
