'70s icon 'Billy Jack' is headed to Blu-ray, with Image Entertainment setting a late-August date for the action classic.
Starring Tom Laughlin, 'Billy Jack' is heralded as the precursor to the wave of "vigilante cinema" that ruled the '70s and 80s, including 'Dirty Harry,' 'Death Wish,' and the Rambo movies.
The first of four Billy Jack movies, Image will release the first (and what is still considered the best) of the series on August 25.
Newly remastered, tech details will see 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video (1.85:1) and a DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround track.
There are no announced extras at this time, but watch this space for any further spec updates.
Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $24.98.
