The 1981 animated cult classic will no longer be a Best Buy exclusive in June.
As previously reported, Sony released 'Heavy Metal' starring the voices of John Candy, Eugene Levy, and Harold Ramis on Blu-ray exclusively at Best Buy on February 1, and now the title will be available at other retailers on June 14.
"The otherworldly tale of a glowing green orb that spreads destruction until confronted with pure goodness. Lavish animation and score."
The Blu-ray has 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements include: Imagining Heavy Metal, Deleted Scenes, Heavy Metal: Feature Length Rough Cut (with optional commentary by Carl Macek - author of "Heavy Metal: Animation for the 80s.").
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $19.95.
