The smart TV platform now makes it easier for users to find apps.
Google has released an update for its Android TV software. The new 5.5.15 upgrade offers new access to many previously hard to locate apps.
With the update, Android TV now features more than 600 apps organized into 20 different categories in the Play Store. The sections include options for movies, sports, multiplayer games, TV, and more. Previously, the platform only highlighted select apps in the Play Store, meaning that users could only find many apps by manually searching for them. Now, customers are given easy access to a much more robust collection of media services and games.
The 29MB update is now rolling out to Android TV devices, including the Nexus Player. Users can also manually download the 5.5.15 APK.
