Fox has unleashed final specs for the October Blu-ray release of the 'Omen' franchise, which will hit high-def with hours of brand-new exclusive content.
As previously reported, Fox has marked September 9 for the "Boo-ray" release of the original 1976 shocker 'The Omen' as a stand-alone release, as well as a four-disc 'Omen: The Collection' featuring four films in the classic franchise.
Now full specs are in, with the original 'Omen' jam-packed with bonus features. Ported over from the previous two-disc standard DVD release are no less than three audio commentaries with the filmmakers, six featurettes ("666: The Omen Revealed," "The Omen Legacy," "Curse or Coincidence?", "An Appreciation: Wes Craven On The Omen," "Jerry Goldsmith on The Omen Score," "Screenwriters Notebook"), a deleted scene, still gallery and theatrical trailer.
Exclusive to the Blu-ray is the "Richard Donner on The Omen" featurette, the "Omen Revelations" Bonus View picture-in-picture trivia track, Jerry Goldsmith's isolated score (in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround), and an additional audio commentary with film historians Lem Dobbs, Nick Redman and Jeff Bond.
'Omen: The Collection' will include the original 'The Omen' (with the same specs listed above), plus 'Damien: Omen II,' 'The Final Conflict: Omen III' and the 2006 remake of 'The Omen.' Special features are as follows:
'Damien' includes an audio commentary with producer Harvey Bernard, and the original theatrical trailer.
'The Final Conflict' features audio commentary with director Graham Baker, and the original theatrical trailer.
Finally, the 2006 'Omen' boasts audio commentary with director John Moore, producer Glen Williamson and editor Dan Zimmerman, a pair of featurettes ("Revelations 666," "Abbey Road Sessions") and extended scenes.
Tech specs are identical for all releases, with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround, plus subtitles in English, Spanish, Korean, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Suggested list price for 'The Omen' has been set at $39.95, with $129.98 set for 'The Omen Collection.'
You'll find final specs for 'The Omen' and 'The Omen Collection' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where it's indexed under September 9.
