Fox will debut the hit spoof 'Meet the Spartans' this June as a Blu-ray special edition loaded with bonus features.
Taking aim at historical blockbusters like '300' and 'Gladiator,' 'Meet the Spartans' vaulted to the top of the box office this past January and went on to gross nearly $40 million domestically. Fox will debut the Blu-ray on June 3, day-and-date with the standard DVD.
Extras shared between both versions include audio commentary with the cast and crew, a pair of featurettes ("Meet the Spartans: The Music" and "Prepare for Thrusting"), "Know Your Spartans Pop Culture" trivia game, gag reel, a set tour, and theatrical trailers.
The BD-25 single-layer presentation boasts 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround (48kHz/24-bit), plus French and Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and subtitle tracks.
Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $39.98.
