In an early announce to retailers, Fox has revealed plans to bring the classic chiller 'The Omen' to Blu-ray this September, along with a four-film 'Omen' box set.
One of the biggest horror hits of the '70s (and the movie that single-handedly eradicated "Damien" from baby-naming books), 'The Omen' is set to hit Blu-ray on September 9.
On the same day, Fox will also scare up 'The Omen: The Collection,' a four-film box set featuring the original 'The Omen,' its two sequels 'Damien: Omen II' and 'The Final Conflict,' plus the 2006 remake 'The Omen: 666' (which Fox previously released as a stand-alone Blu-ray in 2006.)
As Fox has yet to issue the press announce for the 'Omen' films, there are no tech specs or supplemental details as of yet. However, previous DVD releases have featured extensive extras, so we can only hope that some (if not all) of the same materials will find their way to the Blu-ray. As always, we'll keep you posted.
Suggested retail for the single-disc version of 'The Omen' has been set at $39.98, while 'The Omen: The Collection' has been priced at $129.98.
You'll find preliminary specs for both 'The Omen' and 'The Omen: The Collection' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where they're indexed under September 9.
