Fox is bringing a double dose of Popeye Doyle to Blu-ray in early 2009, with first-ever next-gen releases of 'The French Connection' and 'The French Connection II.'
Due first is the 1971 Best Picture Oscar winner 'The French Connection' on January 13, to be followed five weeks later by its 1975 sequel 'The French Connection II' on February 24.
The studio has not yet announced tech or supplement specs for either release. 1080p video and DTS-MA audio are expected, as well as extras comparable to the previous DVD releases. Watch this space for more info as soon as it is confirmed.
Suggested retail price for each Blu-ray has been set at $34.95.
