'Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon' live action trailer 'The Cyber War' brings the noise.
'Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon' has thus far refused to shy away from its eighties sci-fi action b-movie inspirations. And just in case Michael Biehn, neon cyborgs, mini guns, synthetic music, and ever escalating levels of machismo have failed to convey the game's decidedly imitative, yet innovative game world,' then 'Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon: The Cyber War' may be your last, best hope to indulge the cheese-filled nostalgia of Sergeant Rex Power Colt.
The live action short begins with the good guys bringing peace through lasers, only to give pause as an Omega enemy transmission is relayed via a silver VHS. In order to access the VHS, the good guys make for an arcade church, hidden and unspoiled in the middle of the battlefield. The VHS turns out to be merely exposition as Omega Force relates that their cyber virus will grant them control of all American cyborgs.
After a few moments of renting goodbyes, the cyborgs turn on their benevolent ally and master, and the ensuing combat threatens to annihilate the quaint remains of Los Angeles.
'Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon' is a standalone expansion of 'Far Cry 3,' but its story is worlds away from its namesake. The game is scheduled to release digitally on May 1 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
