Special Edition Steelbook and other extras also revealed ahead of the October 8th release date.
Sony has just announced several details regarding Quantic Dream's 'BEYOND: Two Souls,' not the least of which is the inclusion of Willem Dafoe, who stars as Nathan Dawkins, "a government scientist who works with Jodie (Page) to analyze her powers."
From the PlayStation.Blog, "BEYOND tells the story of Jodie, a young woman who’s known since birth that she is different from everyone else. She possesses supernatural powers through her psychic link to an invisible entity she calls Aiden, and this gift has changed her life forever. Playing through 15 years of Jodie’s life promises to deliver one of the most thrilling and powerfully emotional experiences on PS3."
Also announced was a thirty minute additional scene DLC that is exclusive for GameStop pre-orders in the US and EB games in Canada. Typically, this kind of DLC becomes available later at a cost on PSN.
Sony has also detailed a free upgrade to the Special Edition of 'BEYOND' for those who pro-order.
The Special Edition includes:
Exclusive Steelbook Premium Packaging
Extensive Behind The Scenes Video Features
Soundtrack
PS3 Dynamic Theme
PSN Avatar Bundle
'BEYOND: Two Souls' is the follow-up to 'Heavy Rain' but recently has been repeatedly described as having completely different gameplay design, e.g. not QTE dependant. 'BEYOND: Two Souls' for the PS3 is scheduled to release on October 8th.
