VUDU titles in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are now available through supported devices.
Dolby and VUDU have announced the arrival of several Warner Bros. titles mastered in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos to the VUDU library. The selection of titles includes hits like 'Mad Max: Fury Road' and 'Man of Steel.'
"Dolby is excited to bring Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos entertainment content to consumers," said Curt Behlmer, SVP, Content Solutions & Industry Relations, Dolby Laboratories. "With this development, Dolby elevates and advances the movie-watching experience at home and provides people with the ability to enjoy movies with ultra-vivid colors, expanded contrast, and immersive sound."
Dolby Vision uses HDR (high dynamic range) and expanded colors to offer enhanced contrast and picture on supported displays. Meanwhile, Dolby Atmos is an immersive, object-based audio technology that allows users to add overhead audio to supported sound systems. The full lineup of Warner Bros. 4K Ultra HD titles with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos on VUDU includes 'Mad Max: Fury Road,' 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,' 'The Gallows,' 'San Andreas,' 'American Sniper,' 'Man of Steel,' 'Jupiter Ascending,' 'Edge of Tomorrow,' and 'Into the Storm.' In addition, Warner Bros. VUDU titles available with Dolby Vision only include 'Vacation,' 'Focus,' 'Get Hard,' 'Run All Night,' 'The Lego Movie,' 'The Great Gatsby,' 'Sherlock Holmes,' 'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows,' 'The Hangover trilogy,' 'Magic Mike XXL,' and more.
To experience VUDU titles in Dolby Vision, customers will need a supported display like the recently released VIZIO Reference Series Ultra HD TV. Likewise, to enjoy VUDU titles in Dolby Atmos users will need an Atmos-enabled receiver and speakers or an Atmos-enabled soundbar like the upcoming YSP-5600. Finally, for a limited time, customers who buy the new VIZIO Reference Series Ultra HD TV will also receive a VUDU digital version of 'Mad Max: Fury Road' in 4K Ultra HD with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
