Disney kills any hope for the property through inaction.
Less than a year after Disney dismantled LucasArts, and any hope for its last remaining AAA project has been extinguished. The US Patent and Trademark Office shows that the trademark for 'Star Wars 1313,' originally filed on May 01, 2012, was abandoned on December 23, 2013.
As is usual with such trademarks, Disney was notified in November ahead of the impending lapse, and yet the 'Star Wars 1313' trademark is now dead.
Development of the project was revealed in June 2012, and the game looked to be an attempt to take 'Uncharted' style gameplay to an untapped part of the 'Star Wars' universe.
Despite some impressive demos and public interest, the project was dead on its feet after Disney's acquisition, and the closure of LucasArts finished all practical possibilities for the project. The loss of the trademark would seem to reflect a severe dislike of the property's possibilities.
