SD feeds are still available, but the continuing conflict between DISH and Disney means HD channels may not be coming back any time soon.
If you haven't been following the back and forth between the two companies, here's how it pans out. Disney upgraded its channels to HD. DISH put those channels on the air. Disney asked DISH for more money. DISH said no. Disney started pulling channels.
That's an oversimplification of course, but that's the gist of it. Disney has pulled ABC Family HD, Disney Channel HD, Disney XD HD, and ESPNews HD.
This isn't anything new for the companies either. Based on a court ruling from earlier this year, DISH owes Disney somewhere around $65 million in fees. DISH is appealing that case of course, and cites its own cases against Disney.
If you're a DISH subscriber, you might want to start getting used to SD quality Disney feeds. This could go on for a while.
