Buena Vista has debuted a new online video trailer previewing a dozen of their biggest 2007 Blu-ray disc releases, including a first look at the still-unannounced next-gen release of 'Sin City.'
The preview first appeared earlier this week on Disney's Blu-ray promotions website. Though the rest of titles highlighted in the spot have already hit stores or have been announced for upcoming release, including 'King Arthur,' 'The Guardian' and 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl,' one eagle-eyed early adopter quickly noted the first-ever official mention of another top title.
As first pointed out by a member of our forums area, featured in the montage is a nice clip for Robert Rodriquez's adaptation of Frank Miller's 'Sin City,' including a mock-up of Blu-ray cover art for the flick (see above).
Unfortunately, the spot offers no street date or specs. But as 'Sin City' remains one of the most highly-anticipated next-gen titles by early adopters, even such a small morsel of information is encouraging. It certainly seems to indicate the title is likely to hit Blu-ray in 2007.
We'll definitely keep you posted as soon as further official word comes from Disney. In the meantime, we'll just cross our fingers that it will be sooner, rather than later.
We've also added 'Sin City' to the "Release Dates Pending" section of our Blu-ray Release Schedule. Stay tuned...
