UPDATE: (5/31/07) We just received word from Disney late this afternoon that contrary to retailer reports, the studio is *not* planning to release 'Badder Santa' on Blu-ray later this year. For more on this late-breaking update, click here.
Santa's back and badder than ever, with retailers reporting that Disney Home Entertainment will debut a Blu-ray version of 'Badder Santa: The Unrated Version' on November 20.
The Billy Bob Thorton sleeper hit, which made a surprise $60 million at the domestic box office, has already made two prior trips to standard-def DVD. Originally released under its theatrical title 'Bad Santa' in an R-rated cut, that was followed by a 'Badder Santa' special edition, and now we have this new 'Badder Santa: The Unrated Version.'
Disney has not yet issued any official specs nor supplemental details for the film's Blu-ray debut, nor just how many versions of the film may or may not be included on the release.
We'll keep you posted as soon as further information is officially confirmed.
We've added a new listing for 'Badder Santa' to our Blu-ray Release Schedule, under November 20. Watch this space!
