Warner Home Video is upping its TV on high-def plans, bringing 'The Sopranos' to Blu-ray as well as HD DVD and adding a wealth of extras to 'Smallville.'

Originally announced for HD DVD release only, then postponed indefinitely, Warner (via subsidiary HBO Home Video) will now bring 'The Sopranos: Season Six, Part One' to both high-def formats on December 19.

Order 'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows'

Coming to Blu-ray June 12th

Both versions will be a four-disc set with 1080p/VC-1 transfers, 640kbps Dolby Digital 5.1 surround tracks (Dolby Digital-Plus on HD DVD) and will include four audio commentaries with cast and crew.

Warner/HBO has set a somewhat stuff $129.95 list price for each set, making this an offer some fans may still want to refuse.

Also announced are complete specs for 'Smallville: The Complete Fifth Season,' which is currently set for release November 28 on HD DVD only. In addition to the usual 1080p/VC-1 transfers and Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 surround tracks on each episode, extras include audio commentary on two episodes, unaired scenes and a "Vengeance Chronicles" web-i-sode gallery. Also exclusive to the HD DVD release is a "In-Program Experience" interactive video commentary on the fifth season's premiere episode.

'Smallville' will list for a suggested $79.95 list price.

We've added the latest details for each of Warner's TV on HD releases to our HD DVD Release Schedule, and Blu-ray Release Schedule.
