Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is set to debut the blockbuster comic adaptation 'Ghost Rider' on Blu-ray this June, day-and-date with the standard-def DVD version.

Despite taking a critical drubbing from critics, the Nicolas Cage-starrer stormed the winter box office, scaring up over $100 million in domestic receipts (and counting).

Now, with the film's theatrical run now winding down, Sony has issued a June 12 street date to retail outlets for the Blu-ray and DVD. The full press announcement is due in the next several days.

No specs yet, though we're sure to expect the usual 1080p transfer and uncompressed PCM soundtrack. The standard-def release will also be a two-disc set, including multiple featurettes and commentaries, so most if not all of those goodies should find their way to the Blu-ray version.

Retail price is set at $38.95.

We'll keep you posted as soon as the full, gory details are revealed. In the meantime, we've added a listing for 'Ghost Rider' to our Blu-ray Release Schedule, under June 12. Stay tuned!
