In a last-minute announcement, Elton John's Vegas extravaganza 'The Red Piano' will be hitting Blu-ray tomorrow.
Slipping through the cracks, we've just received confirmation that Universal Music has set a May 5 Blu-ray date for 'Elton John: The Red Piano,' which was previously available as a Best Buy exclusive last fall. Featuring over two dozen of the piano man's biggest hits, the set was recorded during multiple shows during John's record-breaking, spectacular Las Vegas stageshow.
Despite the late hour of the news, we still have not yet received tech or supplement specs for the 'The Red Piano.' However, based on John's last Blu-ray release, 'Elton 60: Live at Madison Square Garden,' expect 1080 video and some form of high-res audio. We'll update our listing as soon as final details become available.
Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $24.98.
You'll find the latest specs for 'Elton John: The Red Piano' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where it's indexed under May 5.
