The comedy about a dreaded turf war (with dance!) will bust a move on Blu-ray in June.
In an early announcement to retailers, Image Entertainment is prepping 'The FP' for Blu-ray on June 19.
Mixing competitive dance video gaming and gang culture, the off-beat concept was a midnight movie sensation at film festivals around the world leading to its national theatrical release in over 20 markets. Created as a labor of love by a family of filmmakers, 'The FP' is an utterly unique experience from the producers of the billion dollar 'Paranormal Activity' franchise and released under the prestigious Drafthouse Films label.
In a dystopian future, a relentless turf war rages. Two rival gangs feud for control of rural wasteland Frazier Park ('The FP') in the deadly arena of competitive dance-fight video game "Beat-Beat Revelation." After hometown hero BTRO is slain on the dance platform by thug leader L Dubba E, his protégé younger brother JTRO (Jason Trost) goes into isolation, vowing never to duel again. One year later, The FP is in ruins, and JTRO must find the courage to return and restore order in a ruthless battle for revenge that can only leave one man dancing. Featuring narration by James Remar ('The Warriors'), 'The FP' is a fury of fierce footwork, triumphant montages and neon street wear.
Critics and audiences alike have already chimed in on 'The FP.' Wired declared it "an instant cult classic,” and TwitchFilm called it “consistently and profanely funny.” “A bizarre amalgamation of 'Streets Of Fire' set in the world of 'Escape From New York,' mixed with the heart and soul of 'Rocky,'” raved Starburst and Collider said “YOU’RE GONNA HAVE A BLAST!”
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements include: Never Ignorant Getting Goals Accomplished: The Making Of THE FP; Costume Designing THE FP: Interview with Sarah Trost; Scoring In The FP: Interview with Composer George Holdcroft; THE FP In The FP: A Return To Fraizer Park; Audio Commentary by the Trost Bros.; And Special collector’s edition booklet with introduction by directors Rob Zombie and Brian Taylor & Mark Neveldine.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $29.97.
