As previously reported, James Cameron's epic beat out 'The Dark Knight' for first-day Blu-ray sales, and now it has smashed the all-time record for most units sold on the format to date.
In just four days, Blu-ray sales of 'Avatar' sold a staggering 2.7 units in North America alone, completely smashing the previous record of 2.5 million units.
The release of 'Avatar' has also fueled sales of Blu-ray players, and for the first time ever, the high-definition machines are outselling DVD players at retail stores across the country.
