Fox Home Entertainment has announced its latest Blu-ray/DVD combo release, setting a late-March date for 'The Day the Earth Stood Still.'
The big-budget remake of the sci-fi classic performed only moderately at the holiday box office, earning $90 million domestically.
Due for release as a three-disc Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo, Fox will debut 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' on Blu-ray March 31 (day-and-date with the standard DVD).
Tech specs will see the Blu-ray platter boasting 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround.
Among the extensive extras is audio commentary with director David Scarpa, four featurettes ("Re-Imagining 'The Day,'" "Unleashing Gort," "Watching The Skies: In Search Of Extraterrestrial Life," "The Day The Earth Was 'Green'"), deleted scenes, and three still galleries.
Exclusive to the Blu-ray is the Bonus View "Klaatu's Unseen Artifacts" picture-in-picture, and a "Build Your Own Gort" BD-Java game.
Also included in the three-disc set is a DVD version of the film, as well as Digital Copy compatible with PCs, PSP and iTunes.
Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $39.99.
