The historical classic 'Quo Vadis' is coming to high-def, with Warner announcing a mid-March Blu-ray release for a newly-remastered version of the epic drama.
Starring Robert Taylor and Deborah Kerr, and featuring a cast of thousands, the lavish religious spectacle has gone through a meticulous photochemical restoration as well as a soundtrack upgrade restoring the original music by famed composer Miklos Rozsa.
Newly-released on standard DVD this month, Warner has finally confirmed a March 17 street date for the Blu-ray.
Tech specs will see a BD-50 dual-layer presentation with 1080p/VC-1 video (in the original 1.37:1 aspect ratio) and English Dolby Digital 1.0 Mono. (At press time, no high-res audio option has been announced.)
Extras boast an audio commentary with filmmaker and historian F.X. Feeney, the documentary "In the Beginning: Quo Vadis and the Genesis of the Biblical Epic," and theatrical trailers.
Warner has yet to confirm a list price for the Blu-ray, but we'll keep you posted.
