Digital Video Essentials [HD DVD Box Art] A/V Visionary Joe Kane's seminal 'Digital Video Essentials' will at last hit high-def this November, when indie distributor DVD International releases the calibration disc and seven other titles to HD DVD.

Due in stores November 14, 'Digital Video Essentials - HD DVD' will offer a full range of audio and video test signals for an array of home entertainment set ups. As well as including the original standard DVD version on a combo disc, the HD DVD side includes new test patterns available in both 1080p and 720p. The disc was also produced in conjunction with Microsoft Corp. and authored in the HD DVD format's proprietary HDi environment, allowing for a full range of interactive features.

'Digital Video Essentials' will be available for a suggested retail list price of $34.95.

In addition to 'Digital Video Essentials,' DVD International will also release eight entries in its HDScape series of special interest and nature documentary high-def programming, including 'Antarctica Dreaming,' 'Exotic Saltwater Aquarium,' 'Fireplace - Visions of Tranquility,' 'HDWindow - Hawaii,' 'HDWindow - The Great Southwest,' 'Serenity: The Southern Seas,' 'Stargaze II' and 'Visions of the Sea.'

While DVD International hasn't released an official street date for the HDScape titles, Amazon has begun taking pre-orders with an estimated ship date sometime in November. We'll keep you posted.

We've added new listings for 'Digital Video Essentials' and all of the HDScape titles to our HD DVD Release Schedule. Watch for further details soon.
